NA committee probing Blackwater presence in Pakistan to meet today

ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly’s Sub-committee on Human Rights has summoned a meeting to hear several reports about the activities of Blackwater in Pakistan. Officials from the ministries of Defence, Interior and Foreign Affairs will also attend the meeting today (Thursday) at Parliament House. The four-member body, led by PML-N MNA Javed Hashmi, also includes Dr Attiya Inayatullah, Samina Mushtaq Pagganwala and Kishwar Zehra. “We want to get authentic information on foreign security agencies, such as Blackwater,” Dr Attiya told Daily Times. She said it was a matter of concern as their [Blackwater] operations could compromise the country’s security. zulfiqar ghuman
